There are a lot of computer threats out there these days and lots of ways criminals can hurt you, destroy your data or spy on what you are doing.
Some of them just advertise you and are more of a nuisance than a real threat and others can cause real damage and full loss of both physical components and software, data and files.
There are a lot of programs and antivirus applications which claim to help you. None of them claim to be 100% effective though.
When you run these programs sometimes they will claim to find real threats, and PUP’s (potentially unwanted programs) which is quite ambiguous.
For anyone who has ever seen these PUP warning there are few I am sure you have come across quote often.
This post will talk about some common potentially unwanted programs and what they really are.
Trojan Agent
A Torjan Virus is a file on your computer that came in under the guise of something else. Maybe a photo, movie or even a music file which you either download and installed by mistake or came in as an email.
As an Agent is usually means its part of a bigger library of Trojans which once on your computer download Malicious software which makes changes to your operating system such as Windows 10.
Adware Mindspark
Although Mindspark is not technically a virus, it does cause or sorts of unwanted changes and influences your computer to do things, unwanted.
Mindspark usually comes in with something else, attached to another sort of file to you effectively let it in.
It does not install viruses on your computer but it does things like redirect you to different websites and where it wants to take you, making it a potentially unwanted program.
MyWebSearch
MyWebSearch is a fake search engine online which hopes to get your clicks to make money.
Many search engines do this and is generally a legitimate practice, however the way MyWebSearch goes about it makes it not undesirable, but also untrustworthy.
It gets on to your computer by being bundled with other software and then attempts and usually succeeds in hijacking your web browser to take you to there search results where they make money by you using it.
