    Blue Screen When Shutting Down

    Townsville computer man

A BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) can be a pain whenever it happens. Its always seems to be at the very worst of times though, when you are doing something important or right when you are pushing your computer to do what it needs.

There are many reasons a Blue Screen can happen, but knowing when it happens can help you determine the problem.

What is a Blue Screen of Death

A blue screen of death is a state your computer gores into and usually displays a blue screen with error code.

It basically does this to protect itself and to tell you it can no longer operate safety.

There are many reasons for a blue screen ranging from computer virus and malware, faulty software, memory allocation problems and failing hardware.

Blue Screens should be taken very seriously, specially if you do not back up your data and have important information on it.

How to fix a Blue Screen of Death

    Software:

If the problem is software, there are two ways. A system reset back to factory settings will usually restore most software related problems. Or, you need to weed through the problems and systems logs, also trial error to find the fault.

    Hardware:

This can be more expensive and harder to diagnose without replacing parts.

If physical components like the hard drive, memory or motherboard are playing up, they may need to be replaced.

    When a Blue Screen Happens

Blue screens a very hard to work out. But if you are having a Blue Screen when you turn off your computer, it could be a driver problem.

Drivers are the little bits of computer code which help the physical hardware in your computer, talk to the operating system (Windows, OSX, Linux etc).

We have found, updating your drivers when you are getting Blue Screen when turning off can help with your problem.

If you are unable to update your drivers because of the Blue Screen, it is recommended you do it in Safe Mode.
