Apple Quicktime is a Media Player designed for Apple computers back in the early 90’s and is still used to day.
Apple Quicktime supports files, (MOV), most MPEG-4 files (MP4, M4V, M4A, MP3), MPEG-2, DV Stream, Mjpeg, and some audio files like WAV, AIFF, AAC.
I personally used Quicktime for years but now there are different circumstances to take into consideration.
I no longer use Apple Quicktime on Windows for a couple of reasons.
Security and Vulnerabilities
Apple has no longer supported Quicktime for Windows since 2016. This means they are no longer security conscious about fixing vulnerabilities and security holes the application has been diagnosed as having.
This could be a big security rick!
There are Alternatives
I like using VLC Player. Not only does it play just about every format available out there. It also has an abundance of features, plays Quicktime’s files very well, is fast and constantly updated.
