    Norm Campbell

Hello my name is Norm and I own a small business out of town at Rollingstone.

We back up our data from our business to an external hard drive at the end of every week. Most of the files are MYOB for the business and some Word and Excel Spreadsheets.

We do not keep backups on the computer and due to a recent change need to access an old backup. The external drive we usually use would not connect to our computer. I could hear it making a noise and turning when we connected it, bit nothing showed up in my computer. The drive could not be seen.

We made a few calls and were quoted everything from $500 to $2000 over the phone, without anyone even seeing our drive. One place we called wanted $450 just to look it, before giving us a quote. Another company wanted to charge us $150 per hour and could not tell us how many hours they would need to recover the data and if they could at all!

Find Ross at Townsville Nerds was a Godsend. He has 100’s of reviews and they all say he is fantastic.

We almost choked on the phone when he told us he had no hourly fee, no fee to look at it, would quote up front and no fix no fee. Who does that?

Well it was very easy to see why he comes so highly recommended. The service we got was second to none. Not only is he highly skilled and professional, andalso kept contacting us and letting us know the progress at every turn of the repair.

And get this. After looking at our drive for free, he gave us a quote for only $200. We couldn’t believe it and thought he might no be up to the task for it being so cheap. He said it could take three days and we left the drive.

The next day we got the call and Ross was already finished with our drive. It was 100% successful and all our data on there.

When it came time to pay we were also surprised by the bill. It came in $50 cheaper than he quoted us, he said it didn’t take as long as he though it was and wanted to pass the data recovery time savings on to us.

It’s easy to see why Townsville Nerds is so popular and why they come so highly recommend.

I use my computer for everything,  Like all millennials my whole life is on that thing, My personal life, financial and entertainment.

Two years ago I gave birth to my son, Jamie. All out baby photos are on our computer. Like every other computer I have had this one crashed also. I was able to turn it on, but nothing would come on the screen, not even the Windows Logo.

Frantic, I jumped on my phone and went into Facebook and asked in the Townsvlle groups if anyone could recommend someone for Data Recovery in Townsville.

Many people responded and they all said Townsville Nerds.

I went in to Google and say the countless reviews they had and gave them a call.

Ross was amazing. It turned out my computers internal hard drive had failed. This wasn’t a surprise as the laptop was about 5 years old and I usually buy a new one every three years or so often.

Ross didn’t put the hard sell on me at all. The quote and diagnosis was completely free and when he called me back completely affordable, much less than I thought it would be.

After Ross recovered the data from my hard drive, I asked him if I should fix my computer. I was expecting him to say yes, but he gave me a very honest answer instead. He said we could, but the truth is it is old and if we did there would be something else go wrong with it down the track. He could have very easily said repait it and i would have.

I just want to say, please use Townsville Nerds. Ross is very honest and the prices are really the best.

There are many different scenarios and what can constitute data recovery.

At this time Townsville Nerds do not recover data from Mobile phones. Small USB thumb drive devices can also be limited.

The majority of data recovery in Townsville we do is data from computers, desktops, laptops and external hard drives.

Anything you store on these devices can constitute data recovery. From business files, word documents, PDF’s, email and photos.

A lot of the data recovery process will depend on what you use your computer for and how you store your data. The more information you can give us about what you have that is needs recovering and where you store it, will greatly increase the chances of recovering the data and reduce the time needed and prices of the recovery.

Files and programs are very different. If you wanted to put a program from one computer to another, installing on a new computer is a process, usually from installation media. The files they use can usually be recovered.

An example is, Microsoft Word files. We might be able to re over the files from your computer needed, like Word Resume file. But yo would still need to install the Microsoft Office program on another computer to access the files.
