    Windows 10 Problems – 26-03-17

This Windows 10 article is about 3 common Windows 10 problems people are having and how you can go about repairing them or avoiding them altogether. This article is going to assume you have a fast enough computer to run Windows 10 in the first place, which is probably the most concerning issue.

Like any computer, the quickest, cheapest and most effective way to speed up your computer is to put a faster hard drive in it such as a SSD (Solid State Drive). This article will look at alternative software and configuration remedies.

Having Enough Hard Drive Space to Install

Microsoft Windows 10 requires at least 16GB of hard drive space to install the operating system or upgrade.

Microsoft also recommend a Processor at least 1GHz or faster and at least 2GB of RAM. I strong suggest a much faster processor, one made at least in the last 2 years, at least 8GB of memory and Solid State Hard driver.

Windows 10 is notorious for making hard drives lag and run very very slow. A solid state drive with TRIM enabled is a very good way to get your computers worth when running Windows 10 operating system.

Windows 10 Updates at the Wrong Time

I hate when i have just installed something, and or need to restart my computer and Windows 10 has decided to do some updates and I have to wait an hour while is installs them and restarts.

Fortunately there is a way around this.

You can tell Windows 10 to notify you when it needs to do an install and update, which give you a lot more control of when you need to restart your computer and wait at a time that is convenient for you, not the computer.

To do this got to, Sittings, Security and Updates, click on Advanced Options and select “Notify to Reschedule Restart”.

    Old Printers on Windows 10

Older printers directly connected to your computer or on your home or WIFI network might have problems with Windows 10.

If you are worried about having a Windows 10 computer connected to your printer, before buying Windows 10 you should go to the manufacturers website for your particular printer and see if they have Windows 120 drivers for your printer.

If they do, later on when you get a Windows computer (if it doesn’t find the drivers automatically) you will need to go back to that web site and download that driver and install it for your printer to work.

Trick: If your printer doesn’t have a Windows 10 driver, a closely related printer with a similar model number might also work sometimes. A quick search on Google will show you if other peoples have had the same problem and what driver they installed to fix it.
