No network connection – Part 2

    Bad Network Driver

Device Drivers are software on your computer, which talk to the operating system on your behalf, so basically you don’t have to do anything, just connect.

Some drivers are built into your system and other need to be added, such as those with a 4G network card your wireless carrier will provide for you.

When you connect your hardware your operating system will most likely look at its own repository of drivers to install your device first, so it can run. It doesn’t always get this right and sometimes installs the wrong driver. When this happens your device either doesn’t work at all or works intimately.

Fortunately you can unusually the ad drivers and reinstall the one you want manually.

What can sometimes also happen is when you have your operating system updates set to automatic. You operating system will look at their servers to see if there are any updates for your network device and install them if they think you would benefit form it.

Again they don’t always get this right and you might awake one to find you have no network access or connections.

    Antivirus Programs

Everyone on the Internet should be using an antivirus program of some description. Antivirus programs don’t always catch all the bad attacks on your computer, but they do a pretty good job.

Because antivirus programs focus on protecting your system a lot of them have components which relate to your network settings in a better effort to protect in and out going traffic, specifically your firewall.

This does not always go to plan and sometimes your very own antivirus program and stop your network connection or Internet access.

You might be able to fix this in the settings or you might have to reinstall it again from scratch. If you do reinstall your antivirus program and it does it again maybe it is time to try another service.

There are many out there and most of them provide are free version before paying for the premium service. Most of the free services are just as good.

    Browser Plugins

Plugins or add-ons are little bits of software you can download and install to an existing systems to provide extra functionality.

Browser plugins might give you the ability to access your Facebook messages or see movie times through your web browser like Google every time you surf the net.

Browser plugins are very useful and save us a lot of time. Most of them are free or come attached to another type of system such as one which saves passwords on you’re your computer and sends them to your phone so you always have them with you.

Intentionally and unintentionally some plugins don’t work the way they are suppose to and accidentally stop you browsing the internet. Other times they can be made to spy on you and send information back to someone, somewhere.

You must be very careful what plugins you install on your computer as they cause you a lot of trouble.
