Like I have mentioned earlier Lithium Ion Batteries don’t require a whole lot of taking care of but there a re still a couple of things you can do to prolong the lift of your battery and get the most out of it.

Don’t keep it fully charged

You don’t need to keep your Lithium Ion Battery in your computer or laptop fully charged all the time. They actually perform better only being charged at around 80%. Which means you do not need to leave your laptop hard drive plugged into the wall all the time.

Small Discharges

Lithium Ion Batteries actually perform better when they are discharged for a little then chraged again for a little. Never really fully charging it and then constantly taking on and off the charger.

Once a month let it fully discharge

Fully discharging your battery once a month is recommend by manufactured not for the health of the battery but to keep the “How long you battery has to live” calibration calibrated.

Keep it in a cool place

Keeping you Lithium Ion Battery in a cool place and increase the life of it up to 40%. A cooler battery will last almost twice as long as a hot battery. So if you have a laptop and want to increase the life of its battery, you might be better of buying a laptop stand.
